The Ministry of National Defence and the National Defence League signed a cooperation agreement
The partnership aims to undertake joint activities for defence and to disseminate defence knowledge and skills among society, especially among school and university students. The agreement provides support for theoretical and practical classes conducted within the CyberMil Military Preparation Units, with courses in all 16 voivodeships.
– Building the resilience of the Polish state is based on a strong society; not everyone will be a soldier of the Polish Army, but everyone is called to ensure the security of the homeland, emphasised Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The National Defence League, which celebrated its 80th anniversary last year, currently has 23,000 members, including 18,000 in reserve soldiers, riflemen and youth clubs. The organisation has extensive infrastructure, including shooting ranges, and a pool of staff potential, comprising instructors, trainers, and lecturers.
– Our goal is to defend the country. There is no room for political divisions in our structures – we all work for Poland's security, noted LOK president Jerzy Jan Salamucha.
The signed agreement opens a new stage of cooperation between the state and social organisations in the development of defence skills, patriotic education and strengthening Poland's security.
