The cornerstone laid at Targi Kielce. New expo hall in the making
- During the opening of the International Defence Industry Exhibition, we will host representatives of the Polish government, as well as high-ranking officials from dozens of countries around the world, and chiefs of general staff. I assure you that in my speech, I will congratulate and thank Strabag for building the facility so brilliantly and on time. We are confident that everything will proceed according to plan, but as professionals, we obviously have a contingency plan, emphasized President Doctor Andrzej Mochoń.
Wojciech Trojanowski, member of the Strabag management board, noted that work on the investment is being carried out according to plan. - According to the contract, the construction completion is due in June next year, and we are bound by this deadline. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it remains sunny. This is what will be needed. Thank you for your trust, and I hope that we will continue to work well together. When it comes to building large-scale construction, this is our first significant investment of this kind in the city of Kielce, he said.
Agata Wojda, Mayor of Kielce, also spoke about her positive experiences in cooperation with Strabag. In her speech, she focused primarily on the Targi Kielce team; – We have a team here that is not afraid of ambitious challenges and that realizes micro-miracles immediately. You are the pride of this company, but you are the ones building the company that is the pride of the city – she addressed the Targi Kielce team. - This is a historic moment, because over the years it has been one of the biggest infrastructure challenges of Targi Kielce. The expo hall, which will transform the centre's face and serve as our landmark. Today we lay the cornerstone with a message for future generations. We hope that this facility will serve many generations to come. This is also a symbol of our urban ambitions in Kielce - we are capable of doing great things.
The cornerstone contains messages for future generations from the Kielce Trade Fairs Management Board, the Mayor of Kielce and the Management Board of Strabag, an album published on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the International Defence Industry Exhibition, the current issue of the daily newspapers "Echo Dnia" and "Rzeczpospolita", and coins with a price list showing what can be bought today for 1, 2 and 5 PLN. The foundation stone was laid by Doctor Andrzej Mochoń, President of Targi Kielce, Bożena Staniak, Vice President of Targi Kielce, Wojciech Trojanowski, Member of the Management Board of Strabag, and Agata Wojda, Mayor of Kielce.
The foundation stone of 180 kilograms was transported to the construction site with the help of a telescopic handler and was placed on a foundation footing.
The targi Kielce new expo hall is taking shape.
Construction of the expo hall has continued since spring. The demolished Expo Hall number 7 and the former outdoor parking lot are a construction site now. Work on external heating systems, electrical, water and sewage installations has been completed. Foundation work is underway; the footings and foundations have been completed, and the vertical elements of the hall structure – prefabricated reinforced concrete columns – have been installed. Work on the roof structure is underway, and facade work will begin soon.
A 15,500-square-meter ground floor and a 15-meter-high new expo hall will enable the implementation of exhibition projects at a global, state-of-the-art level. A high-load-bearing floor, wide entrance gates, few columns, a regular shape of the hall interior, a limited number of roof skylights, and the option of suspensions are the foundation for creativity. – Expo presentations will take various forms, depending on the needs of exhibitors; The heaviest machines, most often offered during the Agrotech agricultural technology fair and the International Defence Industry Exhibition, will be displayed here. Designers, marketing and public relations experts will be able to implement company promotion concepts even more effectively.
An additional 3,000 square meters will be available on the mezzanine, featuring conference rooms equipped with the latest solutions for hosting congresses, training sessions, and business meetings. The mezzanine will also house a restaurant.
The new expo hall can be divided into three parts using a sliding wall system. The solution will enable events from various industries to be organised simultaneously.
