RARS representatives and PSP firefighters will be trained in Finland. Agreement concluded at Targi Kielce
In June 2026, Poland will host large-scale exercises with the participation of Finnish rescue services, which will bring specialist equipment to our country intended for operations under the EU civil protection mechanism. The Government Agency for Strategic Reserves, the State Fire Service and the Firefighting Academy will prepare the exercises. The scope will include CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear), i.e. preparing for and responding to threats of a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear nature. The agreement in this matter was signed at Targi Kielce on Friday, 13 June, by Andrzej Hawryluk, Deputy President of the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves, and Pertti Kulloniemi, Project Manager at the Department for Rescue Services, which operates within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Finland.
As Piotr Czech, Director of the Crisis Management and Civil Protection Office at RARS, emphasised, this is a crucial step. - RARS builds resilience at the national level and, thanks to such cooperation, also at the European level. We have a significant opportunity to see how the EU projects we implement can be used in practice. As part of the 2026 exercises, we will utilise resources developed in the field of CBRN, as well as the recently launched project. On 3 July, we signed an agreement with the air carrier PLL LOT, under which transport possibilities will be developed both in the field of cargo transport and the transport of injured people, informed director Piotr Czech.
