Kielce show returns as the focal point for the global defence debate. The 23rd International Defence Industry Exhibition is about to commence
Delegations from over forty countries will be present in Kielce, including the defence ministers of the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Estonia, representatives from the defence ministries of Canada, Turkey, Italy, and the USA, and ambassadors from several countries. The scale and the number of important delegations confirm that MSPO is more than just a technology review; it is also a forum for defence diplomacy, where decisions of strategic importance for security and the economy are made.
Global exhibitors and technology launches
The exhibition will feature global giants such as Airbus Helicopters, Leonardo, MBDA, Thales, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin, as well as leaders of the Polish industry. The Polish Armaments Group, the strategic sponsor of the event, will premiere the Baobab serial mine-laying vehicle. The first serial production unit of the New Amphibious Infantry Fighting Vehicle Borsuk marks another and equally important debut. Borsuk is one of the most significant projects in the history of the Polish armaments industry, created based on domestic technical ideas and original design solutions. Another noteworthy novelty will be the premiere of the Heavy Infantry Fighting Vehicle model. In total, the Polish Armaments Group will present a dozen or so tracked and wheeled vehicles for various purposes at the Kielce exhibition.
There are many more premieres. The FIELDctrl Follow 3D MIMO anti-drone radar, developed by the Polish company Advanced Protection Systems, will be presented for the first time. The compact and emission-free RAF1 unit from Elmech-ASE, the Future Task Force concept of the WB Group integrating operated and unmanned systems, as well as the European HYDEF project of the Institute of Aviation – the first hypersonic missile interception program in Europe will also unveil in Kielce. Maskpol will showcase a new generation of helmets and bulletproof vests, while Siemens Digital Industries Software will present artificial intelligence solutions that support digital transformation in defence.
One of the most essential elements is the exhibition of the Polish Armed Forces held under the banner of "Modern Armed Forces Create a Strong Future", prepared by the Inspectorate of Support for the Armed Forces, which will cover nearly seven thousand square meters of the exhibition space and will be manned by over a thousand soldiers.
Conferences and debates
MSPO is not only an impressive exhibition of equipment, but also a rich and diverse agenda of conferences and debates that address key issues of modern security, including discussions on the uniform of the future, border defence and technology transfer, as well as a Ministry of National Defence conference on military-industry cooperation. Airbus Helicopters will present a project for an interoperable pilot training ecosystem in its pipeline, and the Kielce University of Technology, along with a network of research centres, will prepare a session entitled “Science for Defence and Security.”
Contracts and economic decisions
For years, MSPO has been the venue for signing contracts that have a significant impact on the development of the Polish army and the related industry. Agreements regarding the "Narew" programs, the purchase of K2 tanks, FA-50 aircraft, and HIMARS launchers have already been announced in Kielce. The industry expects to see further decisions this year, especially in the areas of air defence and unmanned technologies. As Andrzej Mochoń, president of Targi Kielce, emphasises, MSPO is essentially the only place on the global defense trade fair map where Polish companies, commanding staff, and soldiers can, at the same time and in one place, gain a comprehensive overview of global manufacturers’ offerings and access to new technologies.
“This is of great importance in the context of modernizing the Polish army, particularly given the geopolitical situation in which our country finds itself,” says the President of Targi Kielce. “At other prestigious events, the participation of Polish entities is limited, whereas in Kielce it is precisely the Polish presence that sets the tone and becomes an integral part of the international dialogue on defense. In this way, the Kielce Salon contributes to improving the security of Poles, especially in the face of the war taking place just beyond our eastern border,” he adds.
Defender Gala Awarding Ceremony
This year's Expo will culminate in the traditional Defender Gala, where the President of the Republic of Poland’s accolades, DEFENDER statuettes, and ministerial and industry distinctions will be presented. This is the symbolic culmination of an event that remains a significant platform for the defence industry in Europe and a place where the future of security in the region is decided.
