The accounting industry is undergoing deep transformation. Process automation, artificial intelligence, the digitisation of documents, and changing client needs mean that not only is the way accounting offices work changing, but so is the role of the people who create them. Owners of accounting firms face the challenge of attracting and retaining specialists today, while employees place increasing importance on development opportunities, flexibility, and organisational culture.

It is precisely the relations between the employer and the employee that will be the axis of the panel discussion "Employee vs owner of an accounting office. Expectations, competences, the future of the profession

The panel will provide an opportunity to examine the labour market from two perspectives. Participants will discuss how expectations on both sides are changing, which competences will determine the success of accountants in the coming years, and how to build a work environment that enables both people and businesses to develop.

Among the experts will be Mikołaj Florczak, educator of the Genboost project of the OFF School Foundation and a specialist in intergenerational communication. Every day, he supports leaders of the largest organisations in building effective cooperation among representatives of different generations. His experience will provide insight into the challenges of the labour market from the perspective of Generation Z and young professionals who are increasingly boldly entering the accounting industry.

The second panellist will be Ewa Szpytko-Waszczyszyn, a tax expert and board member at wFirma. For over thirteen years, she has combined knowledge of taxes and accounting with the practice of developing modern technological solutions for accounting offices. She is responsible for the development of the full accounting module in the wFirma system and for years has been observing how digitisation and automation change the daily work of accountants. During the discussion, she will present which competences are gaining importance today and how technology can support, rather than replace, specialists.

The perspective of an accounting office owner and labour market expert will be presented by Monika Olszewska, business advisor, economist, accountant and president of the management board of MRM CONSULTING. As a practitioner, she has been running a consulting business and an accounting office for years and, at the same time, specialises in matters of labour law, the employment of foreigners, and the secondment of employees. Thanks to the experience gained both in business, as well as expert and legislative activity, she will show what challenges employers building teams in the accounting industry face today.

The discussion will not be limited solely to personnel problems. Experts will also discuss how the definition of the accounting profession is changing, whether the development of artificial intelligence will affect the scope of employees' duties, and which skills – alongside substantive knowledge – will be most valuable in the coming years. There will also be a discussion about communication, motivation and building partnerships in accounting offices.
