VII MKBR Gets Under Way. Safety, the Value of Services and Seven Wishes for Accountants.
The seventh edition of the Congress of Accounting Firms has begun at Expo Kielce. Over two days, accounting firm owners, accountants, tax advisers and providers of industry solutions are discussing changes in the profession, technology and how cooperation with clients is organised. This year's MKBR is taking place on 29 and 30 September.
The issue of workplace security for accounting firms was firmly in the spotlight from the very start. The sheer volume of regulations and the responsibility involved in serving clients mean that accounting firm owners must protect the interests of their clients, their employees and their own businesses at the same time. One of the questions raised during the opening session was therefore how to organise cooperation from the moment a contract is signed in order to reduce risk and uncertainty on both sides. Artificial intelligence also featured in this context – not as an end in itself, but as a tool that can help address skills gaps both within accounting firms and on the client side.
The price of services was another major theme. Participants heard that accounting firms should create added value, reduce risk and build a competitive advantage through the quality of their service, while price remains by far the most common competitive tool in the market.
The opening session was not without its lighter moments, either. Dr hab. Stanisław Hońko, Professor at the University of Szczecin and President of the Main Board of the Accountants Association in Poland, presented seven wishes for the accounting profession – tongue in cheek, wishing them, among other things, clients who actually read the messages sent to them. Beata Kostrzycka of wFirma, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, meanwhile turned to a motoring metaphor, wishing participants a chance to “fill up their tanks” with the knowledge and energy they need in their everyday work during MKBR.
The 7th Congress of Accounting Firms will continue at Expo Kielce until 30 September. The programme includes discussions on IT systems, artificial intelligence, the future of the profession and relationships between accounting firm owners, employees and clients.
