METAL and METAL Trade Fair and the Slovenian Foundry Society jointly promote global foundry

The METAL Expo is expanding its cooperation with the Slovenian Foundrymen Society—the organiser of the IFC PORTOROZ International Foundry Conference—jointly promoting the foundry industry and supporting the exchange of knowledge and experience on the international stage. The partnership includes the mutual promotion of the most important industry events that have brought the global foundry community together for years.

The International Fair of Technology for Foundry METAL and the IFC - International Foundry Conference have long ranked among the most important events in the foundry industry in Europe. The cooperation between the two initiatives represents the next step in building a strong international platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience, and modern technologies.

Scheduled for 16–18 September 2026, the 66th International Foundry Conference, IFC Portorož 2026, along with its industry exhibition, will take place in Portorož, Slovenia.  The event, organised by the Slovenian Foundrymen Society, annually gathers between 250 and 280 participants from all over the world. Approximately half of them are international guests representing universities, research institutes, foundry enterprises, industry organisations, as well as companies supplying technologies and solutions for the sector.

This year's edition of the conference will be held under the slogan "Innovations in Foundry for a Sustainable Future".  The event program includes presentations on the latest scientific and technological achievements, while the accompanying exhibition will showcase innovative products, machinery, and services for the foundry industry.

The cooperation between the METAL Fair and IFC is part of activities aimed at internationalising the industry and promoting the key events dedicated to the foundry industry. Thanks to mutual promotional support, participants in both events gain access to an even broader network of business and expert contacts, as well as the opportunity to track the latest trends and directions in the global foundry industry.

METAL is one of the most important events in the foundry industry in Central and Eastern Europe, bringing together manufacturers, technology suppliers, and experts from many countries worldwide. Together with the HEAT TREATMENT, NONFERRA and CONTROL-TECH expo cluster, the event creates a comprehensive platform for presenting innovative solutions for modern industry.
