66. The International Conference on "Solidification and Crystallization of Metals"
The event will take place on September 21–23, 2026 at the Uroczysko Hotel in Cedzyna near Kielce, just before the start of the METAL International Fair of Technologies for Foundry.
The "Solidification and Crystallisation of Metals" has for years been one of the most important scientific events devoted to foundry and materials engineering. This year's 66th edition will bring together scientists, experts and industry representatives from many countries who will discuss modern foundry technologies, metal crystallisation processes and innovative solutions used in casting production.
The conference has been organised by the Silesian University of Technology Alumni Association and enjoyed scientific support of the Foundry Department, Silesian University of Technology. The Chairman of the Organizing Committee is PhD, DSc, Eng. Dariusz Bartocha, prof. at Silesian University of Technology and recognised representatives of the Polish scientific community are involved in the organisation.
The conference is held under the scientific patronage of the Commission of Foundry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Katowice and the Committee on Materials Engineering and Metallurgy of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the honorary patronage was taken by the authorities of the Silesian University of Technology.
The Scientific Committee consists of outstanding specialists from Poland and abroad representing universities, research institutes and industry from Europe, Asia and North America. One of the key speakers will be a world-renowned expert in the field of foundry John Campbell, director of Campbell Technology Limited.
Previous editions of the conference gathered 90 participants and 60 speakers from 8 countries, confirming the international character of the event and its importance for the development of the foundry industry.
The organisers also invite companies to cooperate as sponsors and present their solutions during the conference.
Event participants will then be able to continue business discussions and learn about the latest technologies during the International Fair of Technologies for Foundry METAL, which will take place September 22–24, 2026, at Targi Kielce as part of the Industrial Autumn. Thus, science and industry will once again meet in one place, creating a space for exchanging knowledge, experiences and establishing new partnerships.
