The reveal at MSPO 2026 marks the next phase in the platform's development. Just a year earlier, Huta Stalowa Wola presented a scale model of the new vehicle in Kielce; at this year's Exhibition, visitors can view a fully built demonstrator.

The Heavy IFV is tailored for high-intensity warfare, where designers have prioritised  its survivability of the crew and transported soldiers. The vehicle features high ballistic and mine protection alongside a modular armour package, allowing protection levels to be scaled according to mission requirements.

Over 1000 HP and ZSSW-30

Remote Turret The combat weight of the new Heavy IFV exceeds 40 tonnes, depending on the fitted armour configuration. Riding on seven road wheels per side, it is powered by an engine generating over 1,000 hp. While non-amphibious, the vehicle retains impressive cross-country mobility—capable of tackling 30-degree slopes, clearing trenches over 2 metres wide, and fording water obstacles deeper than 1.2 metres.

The primary armament centres on the ZSSW-30 Remote Control Turret System, equipped with an automatic cannon and a dual launcher for Spike anti-tank guided missiles. The crew consists of a commander and driver, with the troop compartment accommodating six to eight fully equipped soldiers.

The Heavy IFV is also fitted with CBRN filtration and protection systems, alongside smoke grenade launchers. Provision has also been made for an optional active protection system (APS).

From demonstrator to series production

The programme currently sits at the demonstrator stage. The next phase involves constructing two prototypes for rigorous field trials. According to Huta Stalowa Wola, factory testing is slated for completion in 2027, with negotiations with the Armament Agency expected to follow in 2028. The manufacturer aims to achieve full series production readiness by 2029.

"What we are showcasing today is not merely a new heavy infantry fighting vehicle. It is a statement of ambition for the Polish defence industry and a roadmap for its future trajectory," emphasized Deputy Minister of State Assets Konrad Gołota during the unveiling.

The rollout of the Heavy Infantry Fighting Vehicle at MSPO 2026 highlights the rapid maturation of the Polish defence industry's technological capabilities. Once again, Targi Kielce has proved to be the venue where key modernization projects for the Polish Armed Forces make their public debut before military officials, government administrators, industry leaders, and international media.
