Hanwha Receives ‘Proud Veteran 2026’ Award at MSPO

10 September 2026
Hanwha Aerospace Europe has been named a recipient of the ‘Proud Veteran 2026’ award. The distinction, recognising the company’s commitment to supporting the veteran community, was presented during MSPO at the Military University of Technology’s stand at Expo Kielce.

The statuette is awarded by the Association of Wounded and Injured Veterans of Missions Abroad to companies and institutions that support veterans and the families of service personnel. This year’s recipient was recognised not only for its financial support, but above all for its involvement in the Association’s practical initiatives.

During the award ceremony, Association President Tomasz Kloc highlighted Hanwha’s contribution, which enabled the organisation to acquire a vehicle used for trips and projects across Poland. The company’s support also made possible, among other initiatives, a visit to Italy to the graves of Polish soldiers, as well as a number of charitable events.

The award was presented by Stanisław Wziątek, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence, and Tomasz Kloc.

“Poland must remember you, and so must everyone who owes you their freedom, independence and the security we enjoy,” Stanisław Wziątek said, addressing the veterans attending the ceremony.

Veterans Have Expertise That Can Also Be Put to Use Beyond the Military

The award was accepted on behalf of Hanwha Aerospace Europe by Jacek Cyrek, President of the Management Board, who is himself a veteran. He stressed that supporting the veteran community is particularly close to his heart, while emphasising that former service personnel can continue to draw on their experience and qualifications after leaving the military.

“We are highly trained and have extensive knowledge. We can put our skills to use across different sectors of the economy. We want to share that knowledge,” Jacek Cyrek said, also encouraging other companies to support veterans.

Support for the veteran community has a long-standing tradition within the Hanwha Group. In South Korea, its companies run initiatives supporting service personnel, veterans and their families, including support for military hospitals and the families of former soldiers.

During the ceremony, a commemorative acknowledgement was also presented to Michał Wąsiewicz, PR Manager at Hanwha Aerospace Europe, in recognition of his personal commitment to cooperation with the Association.

The ‘Proud Veteran’ statuette was established in 2013. It represents a soldier who, despite sustaining injuries, remains proud of their service. Previous recipients have included Rosomak, Polski Holding Obronny, Lockheed Martin Global, Huta Stalowa Wola, PZL-Świdnik and Targi Kielce, which received the distinction in 2015.
