The conference, “Windows and Doors 2026 – Market Requirements, Safety and Upcoming Changes”, held at Expo Kielce, was divided into two sections. The first focused on product safety, while the second examined the future of the window and door industry and regulatory and environmental changes.

Safety is about more than product performance

Alexander Szoła discussed burglary resistance in civilian buildings and facilities operated by uniformed services. He highlighted the required product characteristics and the need to verify them through testing and supporting documentation.

Maciek Seta focused on doors located along escape routes. He stressed that such doors must not only meet specific requirements, but, above all, operate correctly in an emergency, when people need to leave a building quickly.

Rafał Czyż discussed fire resistance and smoke control. He pointed out that the performance of a solution is determined not by the door leaf alone. The frame, hardware, type of partition and installation method are also important, as is the consistency of the documentation confirming the product’s performance.

New regulations, the environment and the product passport

The second section focused on the future of the window and door industry, as well as forthcoming regulatory and environmental changes.

Kamil Pawłowski discussed the new CPR and amendments to the Construction Products Act relevant to window and door manufacturers. Dominika Młot addressed environmental requirements, EPD declarations and System 3+, while Maciej Jaśpiński presented issues related to the product passport, from the concept itself to preparations for its implementation.

The two sections demonstrated just how broad the range of requirements facing the window and door industry has become – from safety and the correct application of products to documentation, environmental requirements and preparations for new regulations.

The CERTBUD conference formed part of the programme of the inaugural WinDoGlass Innovation at Expo Kielce.
