Sacroexpo in the spirit of liturgy and art
In the spirit of liturgy
In the jubilee year, which marks the 20th anniversary of St. John Paul II's death and the 20th anniversary of Pope Benedict XV’s commencement, the Sacroexpo agenda features numerous events with a unique and deeply symbolic dimension. The conference “The Spirit of the Liturgy is the Spirit of the Church” will focus on Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger's book The Spirit of the Liturgy and offers an opportunity to reflect on the shape and role of the liturgy in the contemporary Church. The scientific discussion will be enhanced by two exhibitions; the first is an exhibition of memorabilia related to Pope Benedict XVI, made available by the Diocesan Museum in Bydgoszcz. The other - the exhibition of Papal Madonnas entitled Regina Poloniae has been prepared by the Christian Association of Sacred Art Creators, ECCLESIA, from Kraków. This display will feature Marian images crowned by John Paul II and Benedict XVI, reminding us of the deep Marian dimension of both pontificates. The conference, organised by the Sisters of St. Jadwiga the Queen, Servants of Christ Present, will offer a deeper reflection on the essence of liturgy and a unique space for exchanging experiences. It will include elements of the School of Sacristans and will offer a deeper reflection on the essence of liturgy. This event is targeted at parish priests, priests, sacristans, florists and all for whom the liturgy is a space of special care and love for God and offers an opportunity to get to know the key areas of liturgical initiation. The space of the liturgy and examples of arrangements in the liturgical year, as well as the art of celebration in the garden of liturgical gestures and symbols, will be discussed.
In the spirit of art
Through Arts to God - 20 years of history
Sacroexpo is a platform for the promotion of culture, art and spirituality; for 20 years, the show has been accompanied by the papal medal Per Artem ad Deum. Famous composers have been bestowed the accolade, and among them Ennio Morricone, Krzysztof Penderecki and Wojciech Kilar, director Krzysztof Zanussi, Swiss architect Mario Botta, Benedictine monk Anselm Grün, and the initiator of the Neocatechumenal Way Kiko Argüello. This year's laureates - poet Adam Ziemianin and one of the oldest Catholic publishing houses in Poland - Wydawnictwo Jedność will be awarded medals at the gala on the first day of the trade fair, on 2 June. To mark this occasion, a concert of the “U Studni” band – an ensemble from the Land of Gentleness is a part of the agenda. The Sacroexpo will premiere a volume of poems by Adam Ziemianin, “To tu-to tam.” The volume contains several dozen previously unpublished poems by the author, as adorned with his drawings.

Inspiring meetings at the show
This year's Sacroexpo agenda includes a meeting with Father Radosław Rakowski from the Poznań parish of St. name of Jesus, in Łacin. Father will share his experience and ideas for pastoral care, explain how new technologies make parish life easier, and discuss the challenges parishes face. To understand the fundamental relationship between faith and science from a Catholic perspective, it is worth attending a unique meeting with Dominican Father Dr. Michał Chaberek held under the banner of "Problems with Evolution." The Sacroexpo agenda includes the lecture by Jedność Publishing House featuring Fr. Witold Kawecki, as well as the "Pastoral Care in Action meeting - the use of pastoral aids during religious education classes, meetings with people involved in parish life and in individual prayer" prepared by Święty Wojciech Publishing House. Visitors to Sacroexpo may make use of the Lenten Scratch Card and learn the secrets of the greatest Lenten spiritual exercises. Caritas – the most extensive Polish humanitarian programme offers the Family to Family Program.
