SCD jons MSPO - the leader in infrared technology will present the latest sensors for defense systems

24 July 2026
SCD, a world leader in infrared (IR) technology, will present its latest solutions for military applications at the International Defence Industry Exhibition. For over 40 years, the company has engineered and manufactured advanced infrared detectors deployed across land, airborne, naval, and space domains. Its cutting-edge technologies are integrated into major defence programmes worldwide. Its technologies are used in defense programs around the world.

A premier highlight will be the Robin family—a new generation of uncooled long-wave infrared (LWIR) detectors powered by 12-micron VOx microbolometer technology.  The line-up features multiple variants tailored to diverse applications—ranging from standalone detectors and compact modules for loitering munitions and UAVs, to high-performance vision engines delivering fully processed imaging for seamless integration into the most demanding platforms.  Products within the Robin family are distinguished by their compact dimensions, low power consumption, and extreme environmental durability.

The SCD expo stand will also feature the Sparrow-HD—a compact mid-wave infrared (MWIR) detector module purpose-built for platforms where Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) constraints are critical mission factors.  The module is used in applications such as handheld thermal imaging cameras, observation systems for unmanned aerial vehicles, facility protection systems, remotely controlled weapon stations, and long-range thermal imaging sights.

Another breakthrough innovation on display will be SWIFT-EI—a high-speed module harnessing event-based imaging across the visible and near-infrared spectra.  The system delivers parallel imaging at frame rates of up to 800 frames per second alongside integrated laser pulse detection.  Utilising neuromorphic architecture, the module dramatically boosts target detection, classification, and tracking capabilities while maintaining a compact footprint and ultra-low power consumption.  This technology finds application in airborne platforms, military vehicles, guided missiles, and soldier-portable devices.
