PORT PC Congress during the ENEX expo
The Congress was divided into three thematic sessions: effective electrification of heating systems, 2021 technical conditions - the role of plus energy buildings and PORT PC guidelines. Low heat pumps sources were discussed at this part - this was complemented with design, implementation and acceptance of heat pump installations.
The main topic of the meeting - the New Green Deal, i.e. the reforms programme introduced into the global financial, tax and energy system as well as mass investments whose aim is to stimulate the global economy so that it becomes independent of non-renewable raw materials. This is all designed to combat climate change: - This challenge is extremely important, a lot of work ahead of us to meet this requirement, especially in Poland. As part of the New Green Deal, climate neutrality has been set high on the list. I hope that Poland will join be a part of all the endeavours designed to meet this goal in the next few months’ time - said Paweł Lachman, president of the board of PORT PC.
Over the past year, there have been many valuable developments with the heat pumps as a heating source described in the construction regulations being the most important one. Now they are free from the obligation to connect newly constructed buildings to the heating network: - This is a very clear signal that heat pumps are well defined in the laws system regarding the new building investment process. We all wish that all newly built facilities in Poland, and there are built around 80 thousand every year, are equipped with RES installations - renewable energy sources - said Piotr Woźny, president of the board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
The meeting also featured a short film - Jerzy Buzek, a Member of the European Parliament talked about modern heating technology based on EU legal regulations: - The heating and cooling sector is responsible for half of the total energy consumption in the European Union. Thus its great role to play in achieving EU energy and climate goals. Today, around 20% of the thermal energy in the European Union comes from renewable sources. This will increase every year. This is what was decided while working on the new renewable energy directive in the previous term of the European Parliament - said Jerzy Buzek.
The Congress also offers an opportunity to present awards to people who are particularly innovative and take utmost care to implement technologies that contribute towards climate improvement. This year Thomas Nowak - secretary general of the European Heat Pump Association was presented the award.
The meeting also included industry debates and discussions on the future of the heating market in Poland and the new PORT PC guidelines.
