No world without plastics – the Plastech Info expert seminar at Plastpol

30 April 2026
The European plastics sector is at a turning point, influenced by regulation, circularity and material innovation. In this context, events that bridge technology with strategic debate are essential—such as the PLASTECH INFO Technical Seminar, taking place on 20 May 2026 during the Plastpol trade fair at Targi Kielce.

Value chain integration: from raw material to end use

Organised by the tworzywa.pl online platform, the seminar has been designed as a knowledge-exchange forum spanning the entire plastics industry value chain—from polymer producers and processors to technology providers and end users.  The No world without plastics slogan emphasises not only the role of polymer materials in the modern economy, but also the need for their rational and responsible use.

In the context of growing social and legislative pressure on plastics, the seminar provides a space for substantive discussion about the future of polymer materials, their functionality and paths for further development.

Voice of the industry: the need for active action

An important element of the seminar is its environmental and communication dimension, related to the perception of plastics in the public debate. - We want, once again, to highlight the unique role of plastics in everyday life, as well as the need for all industry stakeholders to actively engage—not only in presenting a fair and accurate image of plastics, but also in becoming genuine ambassadors for them in their own spheres of influence. Regardless of the scale of the current problems all companies face, it is in our role and direct interest to be active in this area.  Without this, the irreversible depreciation of the importance of plastics will be inevitable, and we must decisively oppose it, says Jacek Szczerba on the website WWW.TWORZYWA.PL

Regulations as a market-shaping factor

One of the event’s key thematic areas will focus on current and upcoming EU regulations on plastics, with particular emphasis on:

  •  requirements for plastic granules
  •  environmental obligations of enterprises
  •  tools supporting compliance

The changing legal environment directly impacts companies' operational strategies – from the selection of raw materials, through product design, to waste management.

 Circularity and material innovation

Another key pillar of the programme is the circular economy, which is no longer just a strategic concept but is rapidly becoming a real market standard.

The presented solutions include:

  •  development of circular polyolefins
  •  use of materials with a reduced environmental footprint
  •  integration of recycling into production processes

For producers and processors, this means the need to redefine business models – from linear to circular – and invest in new technologies and competencies.

Processing Processes Optimisation

A key part of the seminar will address process efficiency in plastics processing—one of the primary drivers of competitiveness for companies in the sector.

The agenda includes

  •  injection and extrusion solutions to reduce downtime
  •  technologies that improve material and colour changes
  •  problems and solutions related to the dyeing of construction materials
  •  the influence of additives (e.g., plasticisers) on the functional properties of products

These topics directly impact production costs, product quality, and the stability of technological processes.

Long-Term Perspective: The Plastics Industry in 30 Years

A key feature of the seminar will be two discussion panels, expanding its scope beyond current operational topics.

The first one focuses on the question: What will the plastics industry in Europe look like in the coming decades?

The second panel offers a retrospective analysis, summarising three decades of industry development in Poland, enabling a deeper understanding of transformation dynamics and drawing forward-looking insights for the future.

The Plastech Info seminar therefore meets the current market needs as an event with high substantive and practical value by combining regulatory, technological and strategic issues; it is an important tool supporting the development of companies in the plastics sector. All industry representatives present at the Plastpol trade fair can participate in the seminar.
