Conference with elements of the "Sacristan's School" at Sacroexpo
The conference, which includes elements of the “School of Sacristans” - a part of the Sacroexpo Agenda—includes classes that present the concept of the initiatory character of the “School of Sacristans,” which has been conducted since 2011 at the Centre for Liturgical Formation in Zawichost. An in-depth reflection on the essence of the liturgy and its significance for the Church community and the role of the sacristan as a servant of this space are the formation meetings which refer to the spiritual experience and tradition of the Church, asking questions about the beauty of celebration, the symbolism of gestures and liturgical aesthetics.
The conference during the Sacroexpo Exhibition will take the form of a two-part meeting, during which participants will learn about the key areas of liturgical initiation: initiation into the space of the liturgy and examples of arrangements in the liturgical year, as well as the art of celebration in the garden of liturgical gestures and symbols. The conference will be chaired by outstanding specialists whose activities and knowledge constitute the foundation of the "School of Sacristans": Sister Dr. Anna Hyszko CHR, Sister MA Gertruda Bałazińska CHR, Father Dr. Krzysztof Porosło.
The conference is targeted at parish priests, priests, sacristans, florists, people involved in preparing the liturgical space, and all those who want to understand the spiritual dimension of the liturgy. It may also inspire participants to take part in the full cycle of the "Sacristan School," which this year will take place from September 1 to 6, 2025, in Zawichost.
The conference admission is free of charge, prior registration is required.
The event is on 2 June 2025, and there are two available dates – 10:00–12:30 and 14:00–16:30—so exhibition visitors can freely fit their participation into their own schedule. The conference is also revisited on the fourth day of Sacroexpo – June 4 – at the same hours. Admission is free, prior registration is required.
