Archbishop Paisjusz honoured distinguished artists and patrons of religious and spiritual culture
The sublime spiritual and artistic atmosphere marked the ceremony of presenting awards by His Excellency, Most Reverend Paisjusz, Orthodox Archbishop of Przemyśl and Gorlice. Seven outstanding artists and entrepreneurs were honoured for their contributions to preserving the heritage of religious and spiritual culture.
Award winners:
- Zbigniew Felczynski – a master of the art - bell foundry, continuing the centuries-old tradition of casting bells.
- Szydlak – known for the production of high-quality liturgical vestments.
- Vizantio Company – Andrzej Neczaj – specialising in creating icons and church decoration elements.
- Byzantine Icons – Robert Grabowski – painting icons in the traditional Byzantine style.
- The Italian Sobrieta – manufacturer of incense and liturgical accessories.
- ORI Plus – supplier of materials and equipment for temples.
- Wieslaw Nowak – a professional in the renovation and conservation of religious buildings.
Each of the distinguished participants received a commemorative diploma and a personal blessing from His Excellency.
Archbishop Paisius
His Excellency, the Most Reverend Paisjusz, was born on 7 July 1969 in Szczecinek. He made his monastic vows in 1989 in the Monastery of St. Onufry in Jableczna. In the same year, he was ordained a deacon and priest. He is a graduate of the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Jableczna and the Faculty of Orthodox Theology at the University of Presov in Slovakia, where he holds a doctorate in theology.
From 1999 to 2007, he was the director of the Orthodox Mercy Centre "Eleos" of the Warsaw-Bielsk Diocese. He was also vice-rector and lecturer of pastoral theology and spirituality at the Orthodox Seminary in Warsaw. In 2007, he was appointed Bishop of Piotrków, and in 2016, he took office as the Ordinary of the Przemyśl-Gorlice Diocese. Since 2017, he has been the archbishop of this diocese.
Archbishop Paisius is known for his involvement in charity, education and promotion of Orthodox culture. His ministry focuses on strengthening the community of believers and cultivating tradition and spiritual heritage.
The awarding ceremony, chaired by Archbishop Paisius, was an expression of appreciation for those who contribute to the preservation and development of sacral culture through their work and commitment. It is also a reminder of the vital role that artists and patrons play in the spiritual life of the community.
