The modern battlefield generates unprecedented energy demands - weapon systems, sensors, unmanned platforms, and digital communications all require uninterrupted power supply. Energy is no longer merely a logistical resource; it has become a decisive factor in the pace and effectiveness of operations. Traditional, centralized fuel supply chains are increasingly vulnerable to disruption -fuel convoys remain one of the weakest points in military logistics. The response lies in distributed and resilient power systems that reduce dependence on single, easily targeted sources. The experience of the war in Ukraine confirms this direction: energy autonomy at the unit level and the ability to rapidly restore power capabilities after infrastructure loss have proven critical. Connectivity plays a pivotal role in this system; without it, coordinating services, controlling critical systems, and communicating effectively with citizens would be impossible. Organiser: New Generation Warfare Centre The war in Ukraine demonstrates that traditional military capabilities, including artillery, are increasingly being complemented by the mass employment of unmanned systems, artificial intelligence, robotics and autonomous solutions. The discussion will focus on the future of combined-arms operations in a multi-domain environment and the growing competition between offensive unmanned systems and capabilities designed to counter them. Participants will examine the development of counter-UAS capabilities — from interceptor drones and low-cost kinetic effectors, through electronic warfare, to non-kinetic technologies employing lasers and microwaves — as well as the importance of integrating emerging technologies with the capabilities of land forces, intelligence and reconnaissance assets, and air power. Hydrogen Battlefield Revolution 2035 – Powering the Future of Military Platforms - PART II
Organizer: PHU Lechmar Sp. z o.o. TECHNOLOGIES AND FUELS OF THE FUTURE. FROM TECHNOLOGY TO MILITARY CAPABILITIES The second part of the conference will take the form of an in-depth discussion, during which the experts - Żaneta Kłosowska and Gen. Grzegorz Grodzki - will present substantive conclusions drawn from PHU Lechmar's knowledge and experience regarding the application of hydrogen by the European Union, NATO, and Ukraine. Hydrogen will be presented as part of a broader, multi-fuel defence ecosystem, also encompassing ammonia, e-methanol, and SAF. The discussion will address how different energy carriers align with various platforms, transport types, and operational scenarios. Central to the discussion will be the concept of the Multi-Fuel Defence Energy Hub, integrating the production, storage, and distribution of energy and fuels for bases, ports, airfields, and logistics support infrastructure. Both the potential operational benefits of new fuels and the limitations related to their safety, transport, and infrastructure requirements will be presented. The discussion will then turn to the practical transition from demonstration solutions to real operational capabilities. This includes assessing technology readiness, proposing pilot programmes, and outlining an implementation roadmap for a multi-fuel energy system through 2035. Technologies will be evaluated in terms of reliability, safety, NATO interoperability, and the ability to be serviced and repaired under field conditions.
