Why Canada is a Strategic Partner
Discover how Canada's innovative defence industry is helping shape a more secure and resilient future with allies and partners around the world.
Canada’s Defence and Industrial Strategy
Trusted Ally
Canada is a trusted NATO ally with globally recognized strengths in aerospace, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, land systems, and defence innovation. As a reliable partner, Canada is committed to strengthening international partnerships, deepening defence industrial cooperation with European partners, enhancing collective security, and advancing the future of defence technology.
Advanced Capabilities
Canada's defence sector combines innovation, reliability, and technological excellence, to deliver cutting-edge solutions that support allied operations across land, sea, air, space, and cyber domains.
Global Partnerships
Canada offers a unique gateway to new defence collaboration opportunities for European companies, as the only non-European country that has an agreement with EU for enhanced participation in the Security Action for Europe (SAFE) financial instrument. This means Canadian defence companies are eligible to bid on SAFE funded contracts and supply components up to 80% of the contract value. This allows Canada and Poland to work closely to advance opportunities under SAFE, including possible joint procurement initiatives.
Investment Opportunities
Canada offers more than market access—it provides a strategic gateway to North American, European and NATO defence markets. Backed by a once-in-a-generation defence investment cycle, a transparent business environment, world class innovation, and a highly skilled workforce, Canada enables companies to grow, innovate and compete globally. Investing in Canada means securing a long-term position within a trusted and interconnected allied defence ecosystem.
