mspo-2023-galeria-02.jpg [189.83 KB] 2023 Targi Kielce Defence Industry Expo brought 711 companies from 35 countries, including 350 Polish companies. The trade fair hosted 61 delegations from 43 countries. This 2023 MSPO utilised the record-breaking exhibition area of over 34,000 sq m. For the first time in its history, MSPO display was also located in an additional temporary hall of 2,800 sq m. Almost 26,000 guests from all over the world attended MSPO 2023.

When we met a year ago, we said the 30th expo was the biggest in history. The 31st MSPO is even more prominent in terms of exhibitor interest and exhibition space. This is undoubtedly our success, our shared success, which serves the purpose of defence enhancement in the Republic of Poland, but also peace on the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance – said the head of the Ministry of National Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak, at the opening ceremony of the International Defence Industry Exhibition. These words perfectly recapitulate MSPO 2023.

What will the 2024 Expo be like? MSPO has undoubtedly been the presentation platform for the global defence industry's most outstanding achievements. MSPO is also abounds with business meetings and contracts concluded between manufacturers and the defence sector institutions from different continents. For 32 years, in the context of Europe's defence industry expos, Kielce has come at par with Eurosatory in Paris and the Defence & Security Equipment International in London.

mspo-2023-galeria-04.jpg [177.66 KB] Poland's purchasing plans will certainly influence on the offer presented at Kielce's 2024 autumn expo. In 2024, Poland is to earmark PLN 113.3 billion for its defence, i.e. constitutes 3% of 2024 GDP forecast  (PLN 3,778 billion). The expenses plan are included in part 29 of the state budget i.e., the "National Defence" section with the amount of PLN 112.7 billion as well as in the 752 section in other parts of the state budget. Additionally, funds for the implementation of the multi-annual program "Equipping the Polish Armed Forces with tanks" in the amount of PLN 4.8 billion were secured in the special budgetary reserve;  these funds will be transferred to the Armed Forces Support Fund (FWSZ). Moreover, expenditures of approximately PLN 40 billion have been planned for defence purposes in the Armed Forces Support Fund FWSZ, including debt mechanisms. If these funds are fully utilised, the total defence expenditure in 2024 may amount to over PLN 158 billion.

Jubilee of the Armed Forces Exhibition

For 25 years, the Armed Forces Exhibition of the  Republic of Poland has been an inseparable part of the International Defence Industry Exhibition,  each consecutive display is held under the banner reflecting the current Polish Army's developments. The exhibition is organised by the Chief of the Polish Armed Forces General Staff, and the Head of the Inspectorate for Armed Forces Support is responsible for the preparation. Conceptual work on the exhibition begins in spring, and the exhibition space preparations start at the end of August. As a result, MSPO is the only place to see over 300 units of various types of equipment. The exhibition of over 7,500 m2 has usually utilised the indoor and outdoor expo space, the latter is the display for large-scale equipment pieces. Kielce traditionally hosts all types and branches of armed forces, complemented with cyberspace defence forces, the Military Police and military institutions, e.g. Operational Command of the Armed Forces Branches, General Command of the Armed Forces, Inspectorate of Armed Forces Support and Central Military Recruitment Centre. Universities also occupy a large part of the exhibition:  the Military Aviation Academy, Military University of Technology, Land Forces Academy and Was Studies University have displayed at the expo. Training centres and units, the military health services, various research and development centres, institutes and the Central Military Library present their offer, too. In 2024, the Armed Forces Exhibition celebrates its anniversary, and the organisers have already announced that the upcoming show will be extraordinary.
