WITI is an active partner in European and Allied defense research cooperation, and NATO DIANA affiliated test Centre. The Institute participates in projects of the European Defence Agency (EDA), devoted to multispectral camouflage textile systems, anti-mine programs and development of AI based military engineering capabilities. WITI activities encompass the following areas:
1. Water extraction, treatment, and quality assessment
• water extraction under field conditions;
• water treatment under field conditions;
• water quality assessment;
• neutralisation and disposal of hazardous substances.
2. Mine warfare and combat engineering
• electronic control systems for engineer munitions;
• equipment and systems for emplacing minefields and mine obstacles;
• electronic equipment for the detection and reconnaissance;
• electronic equipment for mine clearance and breaching;
• field power engineering: power sources, power transmission, and lighting.
3. Engineering machinery, bridges, crossings, and fortifications
• engineering machinery and equipment for road construction, fortification works, and airfield maintenance;
• road and bridge maintenance equipment;
• amphibious crossing and bridging equipment;
• field fortifications.
4. Camouflage and engineer reconnaissance
