Description
With eight specialised academic faculties and state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure, WAT is a powerhouse for breakthrough projects implemented via high-profile national and international consortia, solidifying our position as a leader in developing advanced defence and dual-use technologies. Our most notable recent dual-use innovations include among others the PIAST small Earth-observation satellite constellation (Polish ImAging SaTellites), advanced modular Quantum Key Distribution systems, the MSC 22–150 "Cis" deployable tactical bridge, and next-generation modular shelters designed for civil defence.
Furthermore, our collaborative synergy with the defence industry consistently delivers award-winning solutions for modern armed forces. At the prestigious International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce, groundbreaking technologies, co-developed in partnership with WAT, regularly sweep top honours, including the "Defender" and "State Security Leader" (Lider Bezpieczeństwa Państwa) awards, for decorated projects such as the SAJNA multifunctional fire-control radar, the combat-proven MSBS GROT assault rifle, the "Drozd" versatile unmanned Wing-in-Ground (WIG) drone, the OSU-35K Naval Weapon System, the "Borsuk" Infantry Fighting Vehicle, the SkanDRON high-precision laser tracking system for low-flying threats, the high-performance TBX-NW 12 thermobaric composition, and the "Perun" autonomous wheeled vehicle built for high-stakes reconnaissance and combat missions.
