The Radar is capable to simultaneously detect, track and classify UAS/Drone, Helicopter, Aircraft and ground targets (humans, vehicles, tanks, etc..). In C-UAS and V-SHORAD configuration, the system detects and recognizes aerial threats and provides target information for the fire control system.
The principle of operation is Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) with digital beamforming (DBF), providing fast update rate and high MTBF. For maximum performance the system is equipped with a unique AESA transmitter. The Radar utilizes multiple frequency channels in a wide frequency range to overcome the potential disturbances, interferences and to adapt to the operating environment.

ORINCIPLE OF OPERATION
PASR-17c employs an advanced sectorial antenna array, combined with adaptive signal processing techniques to localize and initiate tracks, using a single illuminator. This capability significantly improves detection and tracking performance against low-altitude targets, where only one transmitter may be available and multipath propagation is often dominant.

PGSR-3i ‘Beagle’ Mk. II. can be carried in backpacks by two-man teams to cover areas hardly approachable by vehicles. It is also mountable on vehicles and on field posts as needed. It can be used as a standalone unit or in a network of radars as required by the specifics of the surveillance scenario.
The radar is very durable, capable of withstanding a wide range of environmental factors and is also very reliable, with only a minimal chance of malfunctioning. Due to its operating principles PGSR-3i ‘Beagle’ Mk. II. has minimal possibility of being jammed or intercepted (LPI - Low Probability of Intercept).
