Founded in 1984 and based in Neath, South Wales, Llanelec Precision Engineering is a trusted British manufacturer of precision-engineered components for the defence and aerospace industries. Over four decades we've grown into a 120,000 sq ft manufacturing and repair facility, recognised as a dependable partner for high-quality, high-volume production across the global defence supply chain.

We specialise in critical running-gear components for military land vehicles, including idler arms, sprockets, axle arms, rams, road wheels, gears and final drive assemblies, plus the machining and welding of armour. Our products support platforms including Challenger 2, CRARRV, Titan, Trojan, Warrior, Bulldog and CVR(T), while we develop capability for next-generation programmes such as Ajax, Boxer and Challenger 3.

With forging, casting, over 50 CNC machines, in-house rubber compounding and a TSSEA-approved thermal spraying facility under one roof, we control every stage of manufacturing, delivering around 50,000 hours of machining capacity each month and a 12-week lead time on forged components.

Our titanium machining cell also supplies around 70,000 kg of precision-machined titanium components each week to the aerospace industry.

A key innovation is Llanelec 1450, our proprietary rubber compound for solid road wheels used across UK MOD platforms, tested to MVEE Specification 1000 and supplied with a full Certificate of Conformity.

For more than 35 years Llanelec has supported the UK Ministry of Defence, reinforced through the Armed Forces Covenant and partnerships with Babcock, Horstman (RENK) and RBSL.
