Firefighting Expo in Kielce reaches another record

ifre-2023 Firefighters were longing for this exhibition! State-of-the-art equipment, premieres, anniversaries and jaw-dropping shows. The KIELCE IFRE-EXPO 2023 International Fire Protection and  Rescue Exhibition was hosted by over 8,500 visitors. The expo guests were thrilled. This year, 153 exhibitors from 13 countries presented their offers on over 8,000 sq m. of the exhibition space.

The exhibition, Poland's only devoted to such a broad  and comprehensive spectrum of products and services for firefighters and rescue services, returned with a strong accent after a four-year break caused by the pandemic. All those who visited Targi Kielce from 15 to 17 June, i.e. over 8,500 visitors, found something for themselves at IFRE-EXPO. The specialist vehicles on show attracted the greatest attention and appreciation of the visitors. The competition kept the audience on the edge of their seats - this sizzling-hot atmosphere was able to beat the African temperatures during the exhibition. The new vehicles SZCZĘŚNIAK, MAGIRUS and Ładziński were of great interest to the visitors, ARMATEC also prepared novelties galore. BOCAR and KADIMEX, celebrating their 25th anniversary, presented new logos at the expo.

Little firemen, rescue dogs and IFRE-EXPO in its dynamic unveiling

ifre-2023 The spectacular live show prepared by the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Services was the commencement of the dynamic shows during the three days of the IFRE-EXPO. The recovery of injured drivers from the cars in the accident is shown as if in a magnifying glass - you see how hard the work is. Firefighters play a responsible role in the fight for the safety of human life. The staging prepared by KW PSP allowed the viewers to see a traffic accident involving a passenger car and a bus carrying propane-butane gas cylinders;  as a result, two drivers of the vehicles were injured. The accident involved a gas leak. Seventeen firefighters, rescuers and police officers took part on the incident scene; they carried out the rescue operation, freeing the victims and giving them first aid. A similar action was also staged by instructors from the FIRE-MAX company, which organises road rescue shows. Here, the spectators could also watch the enactment of firefighters' work at a serious road accident scene. The "Four Paws to the Rescue!" show from TSO GRS from Nowy Sącz was a real attraction. A dog is man's best friend, there is no doubt about it The dog was first pulled up on a rope, then lowered from the ladder of a Rosenbauer vehicle and demonstrated its skills in saving human lives. Representatives of the INNPRO presented the operation of specialised DJI Enterprise drones. As they emphasised - this is irreplaceable support in the fire service. In expo hall G, at the expo stand of the CFBT Foundation, the film entitled "Burned:  Protecting the Protectors" was screened. The Foundation showed a station for practising firefighting streams use ("Hose Stream Prop") according to the UL FSRI design. Targi Kielce featured little firefighters from Stąporkow - young firefighters' shows have marked the expo's tradition. The firefighting operation of a single-family house combined with first aid and removal of a nest of dangerous insects generated great interest among visitors.

Fire expo packed with sports

ifre-2023 The second day of the exhibition witnessed the competition for "The Toughest Firefighter" title. About 70 competitors had to face a demanding track and overcome several obstacles. There were also lady firefighters who joined Friday's competition, they were doing great on the track, competing with men. Initially, each contender had to run up to the 3rd floor with a 20-kilogram load, and then pull a fire hose on the rope. Once back on the ground, the contenders faced the door-break down simulator, and gymkhana between the hydrants. The penultimate task had firefighters drag a water-filled fire hose and hit the target with a water jet. The final stretch - this is when already tired firefighters had to drag the 80 kg dummy -  the finish line was several meters on. All participants had a time limit of 6 minutes to cover the entire track. The winner, Rafał Bereza, representing KM PSP Chełm, covered the tasks set in 1'27" 32. IFRE-EXPO last day continues its many-year tradition - the competition of TSO teams. This year, 10 units of the Volunteer Fire Brigade participated;   the team of OSP Błogoszów was the first, OSP Sobole was the runner-ups, and OSP Wola Kopcowa came third. The firefighters had to roll a tyre, unroll the W-52 fire hose and extinguish the fire with the use of a head-pump.
