The finalists of the Kielce Diocese Bible Competition, selected in two earlier  stages: school and regional, also met at Targi Kielce.  After the online qualifying rounds, the students took part in the decisive part of the competition on-site at Sacroexpo, which gave the anniversary edition a special character.

 – During the third stage, the best participants selected from over 500 students who started this year’s competition competed – said Fr.  Hubert Równicki.

This  year's edition focused on the Gospel according to Saint.  Mark. The scope of the competition included not only knowledge of the biblical text but also the introduction, commentaries, footnotes, and context that help better understand the Evangelist's message.

As emphasised by Fr.  Hubert Równicki, an employee of the Catechetical Department and coordinator of the competition, said that participation in the competition required thorough preparation.

 – The scope of the material definitely goes beyond school religion lessons.  Participants had to not only read the Gospel of St.  Mark, but also to familiarise themselves with the commentaries, footnotes and biblical context, noted Fr.  Hubert Równicki.

The competition was conducted in two age categories.  The first included students in grades 4-6 of primary school, the second included students in grades 7-8.  In each of them, first-, second-, and third-place winners were selected.

The organisation of the final at Targi Kielce was related to the competition's anniversary.  Students, their parents, teachers and catechists had the opportunity to combine their participation in the event with learning about the exhibition and initiatives presented during Sacroexpo.

 – On the occasion of the anniversary edition, we decided to cooperate with Targi Kielce to give the event a more festive character and give participants the opportunity to learn about other initiatives taking place at the centre – said Fr.  Hubert Równicki.

Międzynarodowa Wystawa Budownictwa i Wyposażenia Kościołów, Sztuki Sakralnej i Dewocjonaliów Sacroexpo od lat gromadzi przedstawicieli instytucji kościelnych, twórców, producentów i środowisk związanych z kulturą sakralną. Włączenie finału konkursu biblijnego do programu trzeciego dnia wydarzenia pozwoliło połączyć edukację religijną, rywalizację uczniów i kontakt ze środowiskiem skupionym wokół sztuki sakralnej oraz wyposażenia kościołów.
