Billions of PLN earmarked for the army - opportunity knocks at MSPO exhibitors’ door

A draft of the Polish budget for 2020 earmarks over PLN 49 billion PLN for defence spending. This represents 2.1 percent of Poland’s GDP. This is the direct result of the armed forces modernization and finance act which stipulates a gradual defence expenditure increase up to 2.5 percent in 2030

This year's defence expenditure limit has been set at the level of nearly PLN 49.997 billion. Over 49.015 billion is included in the national defence budget. PLN 785.6 million is allocated in related sectors , including the police and other Ministry of Interior and Administration’s services, the Air Ambulance Service, the prosecutor's office and higher education institutions.

The modernization expenses of PLN 6.14 billion in total, i.e. the greatest amount.  Rocket troops and artillery  modernisation scheme will consume  PLN 1.3 billion. Nearly PLN 859 million is earmarked for sea threats combat, armoured and mechanized troops  modernization -   PLN 803.6 million,  and air defence - PLN 763 million.
