A tax advisor is a partner in minimizing the risk of accounting offices
The thematic presentation by Piotr Maciejewski, Vice-Chairman of the Management Board of the Silesian Branch of KIDP and Anna Stolorz, Vice-Chairwoman of the Management Board of the Silesian Branch of Tax Advisors.
The lecture began with a definition of the role of a tax advisor and the scope of his professional responsibility, and the presenter then moved on to other topics, including statistics showing how many people in Poland have the qualifications of tax advisors and how many actively practice this profession. Out of that number, 9,000 and 7,000 people respectively, and the profession is quite strongly feminised. The issue of granting the right to practice as a tax advisor and expanding qualifications and knowledge while practicing it, which directly affects the assessment of professional credibility, was also raised.
Other elements of the presentation included the key differences between the professions of a tax advisor and an accountant, as well as the new qualifications that a specialist responsible for maintaining and supervising the financial records of companies gains after obtaining the title of advisor.
A key issue highlighted several times during the meeting was the principle of confidentiality, which obliges a tax advisor, exercising a profession of public trust, to maintain the confidentiality of information received from a client.
