Colonel Alfred Merrill Worden, the 2019’s MSPO guest of honour has died
The previous MSPO features the United States as the MSPO Lead Nation Colonel Alfred Merrill Worden was the US Exhibition’s featured guest. Worden was the American astronaut, the United States Air Force colonel, one of the Apollo 15 mission crew. Colonel took part in the gale opening ceremony of the International Defence Industry Exhibition. This is when Mr Worden handed over the Polish flag to the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. This special flag was once on the earth orbit. The American astronaut also met General Mirosław Hermaszewski. They were both the featured guests of the joint conference. this was the chance to exchanged "cosmic" experiences. During his stay in Kielce, Colonel also found time to meet young people and students of the Stanisław Kostka Catholic School Complex. The special guests answered the questions, told about the preparations for the moon flight and the the mission hardships.
Everyone who had the opportunity to listen to Colonel Worden's stories felt as if they made few steps closer to the stars.
Colonel Alfred Merrill Worden died on 17 March 2020.
