The Gardening of the Future Cluster has officially commenced
The cluster is intended not only to bring together leading companies from the Polish horticulture and berry production sector, but also to serve as a platform for implementing innovative technologies in Polish farms. As the founders indicate, they will work to promote and develop the entire industry.
– We are able to generate additional value for the national economy and for companies that cooperate with us by implementing new technologies - says Mirosław Korzeniowski, cluster coordinator. – One of our members, the Horti Team farm, is to act as the heart of the research and development station. In a sense, dispersed activity will be carried out over projects on different farms. When we carry out experiments related to the evaluation of new varieties, some of these tests would even be advisable to be carried out in the Lublin region, and some, e.g. in Pomerania. – adds Mirosław Korzeniowski.
The strategic goals of the Cluster:
- Consolidation of the leading expert community in the horticultural industry in Central Europe.
- Creation and development of the Industry Competence Centre and the Horticultural Innovation Hub.
- Synergy of competencies of the founders who represent Poland's leading fruit producers, the scientific community and a non-governmental organisation supporting the transfer of knowledge and the implementation of innovations in horticulture.
- Further, the dynamic development of the horticultural industry and its environment in Poland is based on strategy and innovation.
