The 2021 budgeting phase finalised. Less money for uniformed services

04 february 2021
This year's budget earmarks that the state's revenues will amount to PLN 404.4 billion, and expenditures to PLN 486.7 billion. Compared to last year, less money has been allocated for the uniformed services; the so-called may make the best of the "non-expiring expenses". However, there have been cuts in ministries.

The services subordinate to the Ministry of Interior and Administration will have a total of over PLN 15.3 billion at their disposal this year. The police will thus receive the most significant amount - over PLN 10.1 billion. The budget of the second largest formation supervised by this ministry, i.e. the State Fire Service, amounts to over PLN 3.2 billion. The Border Guard has PLN 1.713 billion at its disposal. The State Security Service received the lowest amount, with the budget of PLN 329,342,000 this year. Comparing these amounts with the funds at their disposal in 2020 it can clearly be seen that the budget is much lower.

The only service which can count on more money than a year ago is the Prison Service. This service reports directly to the Ministry of Justice. In 2021, the Prison Services is to receive over 3.46 billion.

This year, the Intelligence Agency has funds of over PLN 252 million. The Internal Security Agency receives almost PLN 631.6 million, and the Central Anticorruption Bureau will be able to spend just over PLN 211 million. All special services, as well as the formations subordinate to the Ministry of Interior and Administration, will face the budgets decline compared to the previous year's ammounts.

To these amounts will be complemented with the so-called "Non-expiring expenses", i.e. money earmarked in last year's budget, which can be spent this year until 30th November 2021. These funds are intended mainly for purchases and investments.
