Plastpol 2024 features an important conference. A sustainable approach to green transformation in polymer materials discussed during the Expo

The growing need to introduce changes in the plastics industry and evolve towards sustainable production and effective recycling methods initiated the the Conferences and Networking Workshops for the academic and industrial milieus. The event prepared by TMBK Partners will take place on 22 and 23 May 2024 at Targi Kielce

The registration is open until April 30th on the website conference.green-composites.tech. Participation is free of charge.

The industry meeting at Targi Kielce under is held the banner of "Sustainable approach to green transformation in polymer materials" and discusses the following issues;

  • Green alternatives in the synthesis of polymers and polymer composites
  • Sustainable production of polymers and polymer composites
  • Plastic waste recycling and reuse
  • Management of polymer waste
  • Life cycle assessment of polymers and polymers composites
  • Enterprises' green transformation

The speakers' list at the conference held within the Plastpol expo in Kielce includes valued industry specialists. Ph.D. engineer Maria Kurańska, professor at the Krakow Tadeusz Kościuszko University of Technology's Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, will discuss the implementation of circular economy principles in the synthesis of polyurethane foams.

Engineer, PhD. Hab Elżbieta Piesowicz, professor at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, will explain the issue of non-standard EPDM rubber use in the production of TPE-V. "Composites with waste fillers of plant origin: a step towards sustainable development in rotational moulding" - this is the topic of the lecture delivered by  Ph.D. engineer Mateusz Barczewski, professor at the Poznań University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Materials Technology, Department of Plastics.

Katarzyna Pokwicka – Croucher, founder and CEO of Ecopolplast, will discuss the issue of innovative polymers:  Ecoplastomer® 100% made of recycled. Lecture topic of Dr.  Mikelisa Kirpluksa's   Senior Researcher at the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry, is "Michael's Addition - a new path for thermosetting bioresins and polymer foams."

Engineer, PhD. Hab Sandra Paszkiewicz, professor at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, will lecture on "Ecological mindset: sustainable furan-based polymers from renewable resources". President of the Management Board of NOMA Resins Dr. Eng. Bartłomiej Bereska will explain the issue of returning to unused composites and present current achievements in recycling.

PhD. Hab. Kamila Sałasińska from the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology will explain the application of the principles of sustainable development in the design of biological flame retardant systems for polymeric materials. Doctor Ewa Witoń-Morgiewicz, innovation manager at TC3, will answer the question: Are "green" composites an alternative to traditional composites?

The conference and networking workshops are organised as part of the GREEN-COMP project financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Funds / Norwegian Funds.
