Photovoltaic panels - recycling
The first plant dedicated solely to photovoltaic panels recycling was established three years ago in France, in Rousset. This facility is operated by Veolia. The panels are divided into glass, silicone, plastic and copper. In 2018, the plant started recycling approx. 1.4 thousand tonnes of waste, a year later there were over 5 thousand tones. Veolia has signed a contract with the PV Cycle organization. This organisation collects used and damaged panels in Europe and ensures recycling.
- Although the Ekotech features a certain traditions, we still listen to the exhibitors’ and visitors’ feddback and how they address the problems of the industry - emphasizes Marcin Musiał, manager of the International Environmental Protection and Waste Management Expo. - That is why we are Poland’s first to invite you to join an open discussion on photovoltaic panels recycling.
We invite recycling companies, solar energy devices installers, and car batteries storing facilities to join the expo. - Modern, ecological solutions that we use so eagerly today may become a problem in a few years’ time. We invite you to look for solutions together - encourages Marcin Musiał.
There are more and more companies in Poland which become involved in photovoltaic panels recycling. Every year, a small portion of panels is damaged during transport and assembly. Entrepreneurs then need to find recyclers.
