Over the next few years, private labels will be in great demand

"The private label market in the Polish FMCG industry is worth PLN 48 billion," reads the report of the "CPS GfK consumer panel - Private Brands 2023" published on 30 October by the Polish Press Agency. Therefore the Private Label Expo becomes a key event for the industry, providing an opportunity for producers, distributors and retail chains to use the full potential of this sector

Private labels, i.e. products which come with the name of retail chains on, are becoming more and more popular among Polish consumers. In times of rising costs of living, we keep looking for cheaper but equally good quality, products to substitute well-known brand products. According to the GfK's Consumer Panel Services report, the savings trend will continue for the next few years. "In 2025, private labels will account for a quarter of all FMCG products spending in Polish households."

These are first-need products, the so-called FMCG, i.e. food, cosmetics, household chemicals and pet food. “The private labels share reached 22.1% in the entire Polish FMCG market, with the increase of 1.4 pp compared to the previous year and 3.9 pp compared to the same period 4 years earlier," reads the report.

According to Consumer Panel Services GfK specialists, the private labels interest results not only from affordable price and quality, but also from a wide range of discount stores.

Representatives of retail chains who have confirmed their participation in the Private Label Expo in Kielce declare the need to develop the products offered under the chains’ brand. They emphasise the importance of quality and uniqueness when choosing new products. 

Therefore, on 15 and 16 November Targi Kielce will become the place where the future of the private label industry is presented, but also shaped. Retail chains and manufacturers will exchange experiences and expectations and establish business contacts that may result in the introduction of new products.
