The funeral industry discussions at Targi Kielce. Experts on law, ceremonies, psychology, and the future of the funeral market
The funeral industry today is much more than just organising a funeral.
The NECROEXPO knowledge agenda highlights how much the funeral services market is changing. In addition to topics related to the organisation of funerals, legal, psychological, and ecological issues are becoming increasingly important, as are new forms of communication with the families of the deceased. The organisers of the lectures and debates point out that the modern funeral home becomes not only an organiser of the ceremony, but also a guide helping the family through one of the most difficult moments in life.
Law, personal data and occupational safety
One of the organisers of the educational part is the Institute of the Funeral and Cemetery Industry. Experts discuss issues related to the daily functioning of funeral homes. Doctor Mariusz Strawiński addresses the protection of the personal rights and data of deceased persons, presenting the rights and obligations of funeral directors and cemetery managers.
The Institute also invites specialists in occupational safety; Agnieszka Nowak from Salvum occupational safety and work hygiene talks about the organization of workstations and biological threats occurring during funeral services. In turn, experts from Bio-Clean will give a lecture on post-mortem disinfection and the procedures used during the specialised securing of death sites.
How are families' expectations changing?
An important partner of the program is the Polish Funeral Association, which organizes the conference "Funerals of the Future. Challenges For The Funeral Industry” Participants discuss social changes, new expectations of families and directions of development of the funeral services market.
At the meeting, topics related to the personalisation of ceremonies, the digitalisation of customer service, and generational changes that are influencing how final farewells are organised are discussed. These trends are increasingly influencing the functioning of funeral homes in Poland today.
The increasing role of humanist celebrants
Events organised by the Polish Humanist Celebrants Association arouse great interest. Emilia Mandes, Agnieszka Wójcińska, Izabela Jachnicka and Monika Stasiak present examples of humanist ceremonies, showing alternative forms of farewell increasingly chosen by families.
The speakers draw attention to the growing need to individualise ceremonies and create scenarios based on the life story of the deceased. Increasingly, families expect a ceremony that reflects the character, values and memories associated with their loved one.
Between tradition and modernity
The topic of changes taking place in funeral ceremonies is also discussed by Aneta Dobroch, Mistress of Funeral Ceremonies. The lecture, "A Beautiful Way to Combine Catholic Funerals with a Secular Element," shows how to create ceremonies that meet modern families' expectations while maintaining the religious character of the farewell.
The lecture shows that more and more families are seeking solutions that blend traditional values with a more personal, individual ceremony.
Psychological support as a new direction in the development of services
The growing importance of emotional support for those in mourning is the topic of a lecture organised jointly by the Institute of the Funeral and Cemetery Industry and Levitate.
At the "Funeral Homes 2.0 - How Your Business Can Benefit from Introducing a Psychological Care Package for Customers" presentation, experts show that professional psychological help can become an important element of the offer of modern funeral homes.
Ecology and new products on the funeral market
The NECROEXPO program also includes presentations on new products and solutions for the industry. Calvarianum, in conjunction with Dawid Czernak, will present the topic "A Sustainable Future in the Funeral Industry: An Innovative Approach to Coffin and Urn Production." Participants will learn about ecological solutions and new directions in the development of funeral products that respond to the growing interest in sustainable development.
The Master of Ceremonies as a guide for the family
An important point of the program is also the speech by Patrycja Owczarzak from the Piękna Ceremonia initiative. The speaker talks about the role of the master of ceremonies and building relationships with the family of the deceased.
He emphasises that modern funeral services require not only professional burial organisation, but also empathy, communication skills and support for families going through a period of mourning.
Knowledge is as important as technology
The NECROEXPO taking place at Targi Kielce shows that the modern funeral industry is developing much more broadly than just in the area of products and technologies. Legal knowledge, job security, psychological support, new forms of ceremony and the ability to respond to changing social needs are becoming increasingly important.
Lectures and debates prepared by the Institute of the Funeral and Cemetery Industry, the Polish Funeral Association, the occupational safety and work hygiene, Levitate, Salvum BHP, Bio-Clean, Calvarianum, Piękna Ceremonia and Aneta Dobroch are very popular among fair participants.
