"Let's talk about roofs" - this was the name of the meeting with Adam Heryk - a member of the Polish Roofers Association, who conducts training for roofers and tinsmiths. Participants could learn structural solutions after the roof construction is completed, so as it can be safely entered for renovation works. The problem of thermal expansion of the sheet metal was also mentioned. How to deal with this problem so that the roof could fulfill its task after many years - this question was also addressed. An interesting theme related to the use of natural atmospheric phenomena in favour of the roof structure.

“Snow on the roof can insulate the building surprisingly effectively, even by several degrees Celsius, which is why in Austria they build roofs to keep snow on. However, it is important that the structure can support all this extra weight,” says Adam Henryk.

The Prefa company was also presented.

The advantage of on-line training over stationary courses

Igor Pilutkiewicz, a trainer and marketing manager associated with RHEINZINK, spoke about "Live or online training for roofers? Everyone wants to enjoy the good and cheap.

As the author of the lecture says, “The most common reason for applying for training is to supplement your knowledge and expand the knowledge of employees before the upcoming construction season. Therefore, when choosing a specific training, the contractor is guided by the date, price and brand which supports the training. Since knowledge can be transferred both "in the workshop" and "on-line" version, the value of each of these communication channels is presented in the perspective of the company development.

Flat roofs in the urban fabric

"Flat roofs as an element of sustainable urban development" is the subject of the lecture held by BAUDER  and hosted by Przemysław Grzesiek, Bauder Polska's technical advisor.

Details of the installation of a cool roof were presented-   the technology makes it possible to lower the temperature in urban buildings, e.g. in office buildings with flat roofs. Przemysław Grzesiek talked about a new type of bitumen mass - the so-called noble bitumen, which reduces the emission of poisonous substances into the atmosphere, positively purifying air in cities.

Antifarmers at Targi Kielce

Robert Szuta - the founder of the "Antyfarmers" group and the creator of the "Antyfarmer" quality symbol in the tinsmith/roofing industry, visited the ROOF FORUM in Targi Kielce. Robert Szuta is a propagator of roofing in the craft style  and at the same time, looks for innovative solutions and ideas in the roofing and tinsmithing industry.

He said, “The idea is to create a brand designed to bring people and a passion closer.”  The initial business contact turned into true friendships.”

“I recorded the first video with a tablet with a tripod made of a broom;  that was the very beginning. Now I can boast of a solid fan base with whom I often talk and share my insights. Recent years have shown the power of the Internet in promoting correct practices in various industries, including tinsmithing and roofing.

Robert Szuta added that in order to start your adventure with educating with the help of social media platforms or video portals, you need to have an excellent practical background in the field in which you want to offer education. He noted that the young generation of tinsmiths and roofers shows how interesting and exciting the roof industry is, though regarded a niche.
