Miniature Avionics Systems from Aerobits

09 august 2024
Aerobits - a vibrantly developing Polish technology company, has been in the global market since 2017, and specialises in the miniaturisation of avionics systems. The International Defence Industry Exhibition is the company’s presentation platform for modern solutions that combine advanced technologies with compact design that meets the requirements of the modern aviation industry

The Polish company is engaged in the miniaturisation of avionics systems, such as aircraft transponders;  all solutions are based on patented technology that allows radio signals processing on very small surfaces. This concept is the basis of OEM modules (low-level assembly function modules), which are the basic building blocks of miniaturised avionics.

Innovations and Technology

The Aerobits origins date back to 2015, when the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin developed a sub-miniature implementation of ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) technology combined with multi-GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems). Measuring less than 4 cm² and weighing just 1.5 g, this OEM module is still the world’s smallest solution combining ADS-B and GNSS technologies;  in 2016, at the ILA Berlin Air Show, Aerobits presented its modern FPGA-enabled systems for the first time, showing the innovation and technological advancement of its products.

Products Offer

Aerobits offers a wide range of products that meet the needs of both the design of aircraft and the ground infrastructure:

  1. OEM

Aerobits provides low-level ADS-B modules for integration directly on PCB;  a convenient way to design devices that require access to air traffic information in their structure. The firm offers many technological solutions that vary in size and data processing capabilities.

  1. EVALs - for quick integration

For those looking to quickly explore the capabilities of our modules, our evaluation sets are the perfect choice. These sets include a dedicated printed circuit board with all necessary components to operate the module.

  1. Plow&Play, ADS-B/FLARM(IN, OUT)

In this product group the company offers ADS-B receivers and ADS-B/FLARM transceivers. The kits include all necessary tools for cabling and/or parameterisation, such as communication converters. Solutions range from the most compact and basic to mid-range solutions and the best multi-system solutions.

  1. Trackers and Direct Remote ID (UTM/U-space devices)

Equipment for the UAS industry in line with the DAA (Detect and Avoid) philosophy. This group presents solutions intended for UTM/U-Space based on LTE/BLE/WiFi technologies -  U-space is a set of new services based on a high digitalisation and automation level of functions and specific procedures aimed at supporting safe, efficient access to airspace for large numbers of drones (UAVs).

  1. Ground infrastructure

The Ground Infrastructure category includes solutions enabling the construction or prototyping of UTM networks based on ADS-B and FLARM technologies;  by using LTE and/or PoE technology it is possible to design a network for any use case.
