Central Poland open for cyclists

06 july 2020
If you live in Mazovia or Wielkopolska Regions, you may find trips to the seaside or to the mountains too long a journey. Fortunately, central Poland also abounds in interesting cycling routes of various lengths. This is our selection

There are two interesting, though completely different routes from Warsaw: towards Zegrze and all-around the Kampinos Forest. The trail sets off from the Palace of Culture and Education and leads to the Zegrze Reservoir - it is only 27 km long and leads mainly along main roads. Easy for rookie cyclists. The possibility having a lake bathe, sports and extensive tourist facilities availability is yet another reward and incentive. If necessary, you can return to Warsaw by bus or train.

The Kampinos trail of over 120 km leads around the Kampinos National Park.  A more diverse and demanding route, not only offers magnificent forest views, but also other attractions. There are old manor houses and cemeteries, the oldest tree in Poland, as well as Żelazowa Wola, Fryderyk Chopin’s birthplace.  This is a beautiful trail for experienced cyclists.  It is worth dividing the trip into several parts, available accommodation for particular days.

If you look for an easy forest trail, the Bolimów Landscape Park route is an ideal choice.  The 20 km route abounds with attractive landscapes and leads directly to Nieborów, where you can visit the beautiful Radziwiłłs’ palace and museum. A similar length trail leads through the Kozienice Forests and ends in Czarnoles at the Jan Kochanowski Museum.  Both routes are a perfect family weekend cjoice.

We can set off from Łódź and choose the route through the Łódź Hills Landscape Park marked with picturesque villages. This is quite a demanding route with long dirt-roads stretches.   74 km long trial has been cut out for adventure lovers who are not afraid of mud or difficult up-hills and at the same time want a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The route can be divided into sections.

The other two interesting routes start in Poznań.  Mickiewicz and ancient architecture lovers are recommended the Ziemiański Bicycle Trail, leading through the most beautiful areas spotted with manor houses and Wielkopolska beauty spots.  250 km of varied routes on paved roads, dirt roads and even cobble-stone covered surfaces  include attractions, such as a film museum where "Pan Tadeusz" was screened, Pępów and Pakosław palaces and numerous manor courts. Persistent ones should choose this option, yet they will definitely not regret it!

The Hundred Lakes Trail - half the length yet still impressive route  begins in Poznań and leads not only around numerous lakes and ponds, but also close to numerous monuments. This is a beautiful and easy trail on unpaved paved roads. If divided into several sections - this is an ideal choice even for beginners.

Holidays on two wheelers offers a great way to relax, strengthen your excellent well-being and explore the most beautiful places. Poland offers many beautiful places. Now is the time to see them all. Enjoy the ride!
