Artificial intelligence is revolutionising waste management. Groundbreaking solutions presented at the Ekotech trade fair
Innovations for ecology
The 25th Ekotech is attended by 62 exhibitors from five countries: Poland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Kazakhstan. The solutions offered prove that waste management can be more effective and much more sustainable thanks to the use of artificial intelligence (AI). This year, AI-based innovations are attracting special attention and the expo stands showcase autonomous robots for selective waste collection, intelligent systems for monitoring landfills and mobile applications supporting ecological education of municipalities' residents.
One of the most spectacular examples of the use of artificial intelligence is Max-AI® AQC-Flex sorter presented by the company Max-AI® Advanced detection and sorting technology from the Netherlands. It is a smart sorting system changing how waste is managed in processing plants. Thanks to advanced image analysis and a self-learning algorithm, the machine can recognise and segregate waste with high precision in real time. These types of solutions significantly contribute to increasing recycling efficiency, reducing operating costs and minimising human errors.
Precision that pays off – Globtrak technologies
Local company Globtrak Poland from Kielce also presented several advanced solutions based on artificial intelligence. Among them was a fraction detection module, which analyses the composition of waste and automatically selects appropriate processing methods. As a result, an optimized segregation process, a lower risk of pollution, and real support for pro-ecological activities are offered.
Globtrak Poland Ekotech also presented intelligent container fullness sensor, which monitors the level of waste in bins and containers in real time. This allows waste collection systems to operate precisely and flexibly, reducing unnecessary vehicle journeys and therefore CO₂ emissions.
Smart city and automation – startups at Ekotech
The jubilee Ekotech cannot miss startup zones of the Kielce Technology Park, which presents smart city solutions. Solar benches with Wi-Fi, eco-friendly bus shelters with photovoltaic panels and interactive info kiosks are on show. These are elements that can be used in modern cities that use technology to improve the comfort of their inhabitants and care for the environment.
Ekotech is also attracting a lot of interest modern bottle vending machines. BARTONTECH presents a device capable of holding from 6 to 12 thousand bottles and cans, which makes it an ideal solution for large agglomerations. 4VS presents its line of PET and aluminum bottle recyclers that integrate automation with a practical incentive system for residents.
