Agreement between PGZ and Hyundai Rotem signed at MSPO

07 september 2022
The president of Polish Armaments Group, Sebastian Chwałek, and the president of Hyundai Rotem, Lee Yong-bae, signed an agreement on cooperation between the two companies on unmanned land platforms and the commencement of work on the development of next-generation tank technology. The signing ceremony was a part of the 30th International Defence Industry Exhibition.

- This agreement shows the importance of a sincere partnership in times of trial. We are facing an exceptional period for Europe and the world, an unprecedented war beyond our eastern border. Just as the government sides of South Korea and Poland have confirmed far-reaching alliances, the defence industries of both countries are also forming alliances - said Sebastian Chwałek, president of PGZ.

Hyundai Rotem CEO Lee Yong-bae said that the company would work closely with PGZ and the Polish industry to prepare for possible future scenarios but also to develop the armaments industry in Poland.

Today's agreement is part of the long-term cooperation between Poland and South Korea. Last year, the Minister of National Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak, signed a contract to purchase Korean K2 tanks and K9 gun howitzers.
