Description

The Chamber of  Urban Transport brings together mainly organizers and operators of public transport. The members of the Chamber are also fleet manufacturers, scientific and research institutions and other entities providing services for public urban transport. In total, there are over 220 members in the organization. The IGKM has been existed since March 1991 and continued the tradition of cooperation of public transport companies, previously developed by other organizations.


 


Main objectives:


 



  • Initiating legal regulations in the field of public transport and giving opinions on draft legal acts.

  • Dissemination of the latest achievements in the field of public transport, including organizational, economic and technical issues.

  • Organizing mutual cooperation between the members of the Chamber and exchanging information in all areas of interest.

  • Creating conditions for equal competition between municipal and private operators.

  • Creating conditions for free but fair competition among fleet manufacturers, producers of fleet equipment, elements  of infrastructure and  providers of services for urban transport sector.

  • Keeping a database on public urban transport in Poland.

  • International cooperation.

  • monitoring the current legal status in the field of public mass transport and participating in the legislative process,

  • organization of conventions, conferences, seminars, industry committees, trainings and workshops,

  • consultations, opinions and expert opinions,

  • printed and electronic publications,

  • web portal.
