Description
The Quarzwerke Group is an internationally active family-owned company with over 140 years of tradition and a significant market position in the extraction, processing, and refinement of industrial minerals, primarily from its own deposits. The products are indispensable not only in their original application areas such as glass, paper, foundry, ceramics, and construction chemicals, but have also long been used in polymer-based applications such as plastics, paints, and coatings.
The group employs around 3,500 people across 35 locations in Europe and Asia and is organized into six divisions. The division HPF The Mineral Engineers focuses on the development of innovative and functional high-performance fillers and additives based on mineralogical and synthetic raw materials. High-performance fillers are highly specialized natural raw materials valued by customers worldwide.
In close collaboration with customers, tailored solutions are developed to help improve the efficiency of their systems. To achieve these goals, the company employs highly qualified specialists in research and development, the central laboratory, and the technically oriented sales department.
The High Performance Fillers plants (HPF) located in Frechen near Cologne and in Dangjin City, South Korea, rely on experienced teams who adapt flexibly and quickly to new challenges and products. These sites are equipped with processing units of various sizes for the treatment and refinement of mineral raw materials. This enables the grinding and surface modification of minerals from millimeter scale down to just a few hundred nanometers.
Quarzwerke is a corporate group with a strong quality philosophy, certified according to DIN ISO 9001, ensuring smooth operations from extraction to delivery.
