Łukasiewicz Research Network – Automotive Industry Institute has been conducting research and development activities in the field of automotive engineering for over 50 years, and since 2019 has operated as part of one of the largest research networks in Europe. The Institute specializes in the design, testing, and development of technologies for national defense and security, as well as in modern transport solutions.

Key areas of cooperation with the defense sector:
• Artificial intelligence technologies, including perception systems, object detection and recognition,
• Vehicle automation and autonomy systems, as well as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS),
• Energy storage solutions, including traction batteries for special-purpose vehicles,
• Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC),
• Durability and reliability of vehicles and their components.

Additional competencies:
• Testing within OiB accreditation,
• Vehicle and component type-approval testing,
• Testing of active and passive vehicle safety systems,
• Research on fuels, biofuels, and renewable energy sources.

The Institute provides R&D support for companies in the automotive, transport, energy, and defense sectors, ensuring confidentiality, modern infrastructure, and short lead times for commissioned tasks and R&D projects.
