Łukasiewicz – Upper-Silesian Institute of Technology offers a wide range of research, consultancy and training services for steel producers and steel product users as well as for institutions related to iron and steel industry. The Institute conducts advanced research in smart mobility as well as in aerospace and additive technologies (3D printing). Presently, particular emphasis is given to hydrogen technologies, including research concerning the use of hydrogen in metallurgical processes. Through implementation of non-destructive testing (NDT), the Institute expands its research potential to satisfy needs of the power industry. The Institute also develops knowledge of welding engineering and supports the domestic industry by providing services of the highest quality in the scope of joining metallic materials and thermoplastics, thermal cutting and allied methods. The Institute ensures high standards and competitiveness of welded products both at home and overseas. The Upper-Silesian Institute of Technology not only develops new products and services, but also modernises the already-existing methods of designing, constructing and testing of electrical machines. Results of such research and work are applied to the design and construction of new series and variants of machinery characterised by the highest technical and operational parameters, which not only rival but often prove superior to parameters offered by other leading European and global companies.
