Description
Babcock plays a critical role in international defence. In a world of significant geopolitical instability, national security has never been more important as defence requirements become increasingly complex to deliver. Ensuring those critical services are readily available, affordable and long-lasting is a vital task. And Babcock is built for that task. Now more than ever, what we do matters. Creating a safe and secure world, together.

We provide through-life technical and engineering support for our customers’ assets, delivering improvements in the performance, availability, and programme cost.

We deliver critical services, including front line and equipment support, to our defence and civil customers. Providing engineering support to land defence and air base operations, specialist training and asset management, equipment supply and maintenance to the resources sector, and engineering support to the nuclear power industry.
Our innovative training methods and effective management of over 35,000 vehicles for the British Army, from quad bikes to main battle tanks, ensures our customer can respond rapidly when it’s mission critical. Our work, often with SMEs, creates export opportunities in systems integration and platform conversions.

With our unrivalled expertise in aviation our skilled engineers, ground support staff and training instructors deliver military flying training, air station support and integrated engineering services to armies, navies and air forces across Europe.

We design, develop and manufacture a range of defence and specialist equipment from naval ships and weapons handling systems to liquid gas handling systems.

We also provide integrated, technology-enabled solutions to our defence customers in areas such as secure communications, electronic warfare and air defence.

In Poland, Babcock was selected as the platform design provider and technology partner for the country’s new MIECZNIK frigate programme - supporting the PGZ-MIECZNIK Consortium in the development of three Arrowhead 140 frigates to be built in Polish shipyards by a local workforce, drawing significantly from Polish suppliers and Babcock’s global supply chain. We have since established our presence through our offices in Warsaw and Gdynia.

Through a Class Design Contract and a Transfer of Knowledge & Technology (TOKAT) framework agreement, Babcock is helping to enhance Poland’s shipbuilding capability and is supporting the programme through PGZ S.A’s Project Management Office.

No one is closer to our customers, as dedicated to their cause. We make their mission, our mission. Delivering the capability they need, available to them wherever, whenever and however they need it. We’re able to tackle high stakes, complex tasks in the most challenging environments. That is why our customers trust us to deliver their critical programmes, and how we are creating a safe and secure world, together.
