The holy war is over; the crushing victory is achieved by the yellow-white-blue team. The 3:0 score is the final result of the play off match held on Saturday in Płock Arena. Both teams were equal in the match but the Vive Targi Kielce team was the winner with the final score 27:25. this victory gained Vive Targi Kielce the Polish championship for the ninth time.

- The match meant a lot of struggle and emotions; it may not have been the most beautiful match technique-wise. It must be stressed that Grzesiek Tkaczyk and Sławek Szmal have won their first gold medals today. We have properly done our homework. Before the match in the locker room we had the last year’s bronze medal hanging on the wall. And as a team we have proven to be really strong. The first part of the match had a whole series of good passages which had not finished with scoring a goal; we also had a few penalty shots we wasted. We also paid attention to a number of non-sport aspects. We looked at ourselves and at our opponents. I would also like to thank our fans – there were so many of them who came to support us like they did all the season long – said the VTK coach Bogdan Wenta.

Kielce handball team was able to score this year’s most important trophies; they have won Polish Championship and Polish Cup. The team has also been quite successful in the European Champions League. In this season round, Wisła has lost five league matches to VTK and one in the knock-out stage.

On Tuesday evening in the open-air concert hall in Kielce’s park there will festivity; Polish Champions will be the guests of honour.
