The Kielce military expo features the inventions of Military University of Technology
The Military University of Technology has strongly cooperated with the defence industry, which results in specific, innovative studies.
– The military and defence expo in Kielce is an excellent opportunity to present on the international forum the achievements of our scientists and engineers, as well as the enormous scientific and research potential of the Military University of Technology, which, in addition to its statutory mission of educating future officers, is also one of the best research and development centres in Poland . With such an intensive development of the defence industry we have observed in our country in recent years, the Military University of Technology is even more involved in solving technical problems for the needs of the Polish economy, for the broadly defined security of our country - says Brigadier General Professor Doctor Hab. Engineer Przemysław Wachulak, Rector-Commandant of the Military University of Technology.
The 10 presented inventions of the Military University of Technology, inclide as many as four were submitted to the competition for the Defender award. These are:
- Automatic syringe – Technology Transfer Centre and Institute of Optoelectronics
The syringe is used for injections with one hand, thus it is possible to independently and efficiently administer (also through outer clothing) the intramuscular drug in situations of the direct threat to human health and life, with particular emphasis on the situation on the battlefield.
-
- Bot detection system in the corporate network BotTROP - Faculty of Cybernetics -
the computer software uses artificial intelligence to fight against cyber threats. The network traffic collected by it is analysed in terms of identifying devices infected with malware. Thanks to the possibility of graphical presentation of the results, it presents detected online threats. Farticularly useful for the needs of the Security Operations Center. The software has been fully implemented and tested on both simulated and real malicious traffic.
- Quantum Random Number Generator - Institute of Optoelectronics.
The device uses quantum phenomena to generate random numbers; the numbers obtained are used to create a key that is much more resistant to breaking, and thus ensures a higher level of security of the transmitted data. The generator will enable the launch of the quantum key distribution (QKD) devices developed by the Military University of Technology team based on the transmission of single and entangled photons. The characteristic feature of the device - the complete unpredictability of each subsequent generated bit, insensitivity to environmental changes, live verification of the work status and a high level of Shannon's entropy.
-
- A mobile multi-sensor surveillance system to secure the border zone - Institute of Optoelectronics.
The system, built on the basis of an off-road vehicle, is to secure the state border in terms of preventing its violation by people, means of transport and goods smuggling. For this purpose, a comprehensive situational picture is created. The image is a result of radio watch and localisation of radio emission in the omnidirectional zone, observation in various weather conditions (day or night) in the infrared band in the omnidirectional zone and tracking (in the infrared and visible band) detected object. Elements of the situational image are sent to portable receivers, patrols cooperating with the vehicle are equipped with.
The WAT expo stand also presents:
- ICT module supporting the identification of victims of catastrophes and terrorist attacks IDVICTIM - Faculty of Electronics.
- Multi-chamber cylinder set for grinding in planetary mills - Faculty of New Technologies and Chemistry.
- A set of cylinders for planetary ball mills for grinding and mechanical synthesis under passively controlled temperature conditions - Faculty of New Technologies and Chemistry.
- Smart map of life - a system for rescuing wounded soldiers from the battlefield - Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy.
- Modular platform-container for the transport of intermodal military equipment, palletised goods, loose materials and logs - Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
- A train carriage with a rotating loading platform for intermodal transport - Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
The Polish Armaments Group, just like in previous years will be the display for the most advanced, cutting-edge Polish defence sector's achievements presented by WAT. In cooperation with Arms Factory "Łucznik"-Radom LLC:
- a m odular grenade launcher caliber 40 mm (underslung and stand-alone) and 7.62x51 mm (308 Win.)
- Semi-automatic sniper rifle.
Both have been submitted for the Defender Award.
