The conversion of Targi Kielce to a joint-stock company has been effected with a decision by the District Court in Kielce. The new legal form of this fair organizer has been registered.

So far, the Targi Kielce company, which was established in 1992, has been operating as a limited liability company, with the municipality of Kielce being its owner.

"The new legal form has not changed the ownership structure, though it makes such an option possible ," says Andrzej Mochoń, president of the Management Board of Targi Kielce. "The municipality of Kielce continues to be the owner of the exhibition centre."

Targi Kielce is an important player on Poland's exhibition market. Last year it was the only fair organizer to increase its market share – from 22% to 27%, thus strengthening its position as one of the two leading exhibition companies in the country. For five years the company has been enjoying a period of rapid growth and the highest development dynamics on the market. It organizes almost 60 exhibitions, with a few of them being amongst Europe's leading fair events, e.g. The International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO, the International Fair of Road Construction AUTOSTRADA-POLSKA, and the International Fair of Agricultural Techniques AGROTECH.

It is a few months since the Targi Kielce company has embarked upon a development project whose value amounts to 170 million zlotys. A modern terminal featuring an electronic exhibitors and visitor registration system has already been completed. By July, a new hall will have been constructed, offering an exhibition space of 6,000 square metres and a being 12 metres high, which will make it possible to organized indoor demonstrations of large machines. No later than by the end of this month, the construction of another hall will have started. It will be located on the site of the pavilion which was destroyed by a fire in the autumn of last year. "This hall will be ready by the summer, before the opening of the defence exhibition, " says president Andrzej Mochoń." We have already rented all the space to exhibitors of the next International Defence Industry Exhibition."

The extension work to be carried out within the next two years also includes the development of a Conference Centre with a seating capacity of 1,000. The plan also provides for the construction of a multi-level car park for a few hundred vehicles. According to president Andrzej Mochoń, the unquestionable leader of innovative solutions amongst Poland's fair organizers is attracting potential investors' attention. As yet, however, the company has started co-operation only with a consulting agency which is supposed to determine the development directions and objectives of the capital expenditure projects to be implemented by the company.
