The backup hospital, not a temporary one

04 december 2020
The official construction completion of the first stage of the Temporary Hospital in Targi Kielce saw Zbigniew Koniusz, the Voivode of Świętokrzyskie Province, relating the epidemic situation; the situation now does not require opening an additional facility. On the contrary, the temporary hospital may therefore remain a backup hospital

The journalists attending the press conference held on 4 December were informed that the main construction works had already been completed. The clinic with separated hospital boxes, airlocks, toilets are already there. Some equipment has also been already installed. The electrical installation and medical gases grid, i.e. the liquefied oxygen installation and the compressed air installation have been made operational.  Some of the beds and 50 ventilators have also been delivered to the hospital. There are also, among others, cardiac monitors and infusion pumps already available.

- “United we stand, divided we fall”. There was a short time since the first moment the concept of creating temporary hospitals in the territory of the Republic of Poland came into light until in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship delivered the tangible results.  Agreement of the three partners.  Apart from the Provincial Office, represented by me, the city has provided invaluable help and input.  The thanks go to to the City Mayor Bogdan Wenta - said Zbigniew Koniusz in his official speech - words of thanks also to Andrzej Mochoń, the president of Targi Kielce, who, as a representative of the municipal institution, quickly accepted the decision and swiftly started to act.

Ultimately, the hospital is to have 300 beds (with the possibility of expansion to 1000) for COVID-19 patients. This number includes about 50 ventilators.
