SARP Joins Roof Forum 2027. Architects and Roofing Professionals to Meet at Expo Kielce

07 October 2026
The Association of Polish Architects (SARP) is joining the preparations for the next edition of Roof Forum. A newly signed agreement marks the beginning of a new chapter in the partnership, which aims to bring architectural design and construction practice closer together. The programme will include a competition for architects and presentations by prominent figures from the Polish architectural community.

Where Design Meets Construction

Cooperation with the Association of Polish Architects is set to bring a fresh perspective to Roof Forum and create opportunities for architects, designers and contractors to engage directly with one another. It is at the intersection of these professions that decisions are made which ultimately shape the quality, functionality and appearance of completed buildings.

The initial plans for the partnership were discussed at a meeting between the Roof Forum team and architect Marek Chrobak, President of SARP. “It was a very positive and productive discussion. We want Roof Forum to bring together not only manufacturers and contractors, but the entire community that helps shape the buildings of today. Architects develop the designs, while contractors turn those visions into reality, which is why dialogue between them is so important,” the organisers of Roof Forum emphasised.

A Competition, Presentations and Leading Names in Architecture

One of the key elements of the partnership will be a competition aimed at architects. The Roof Forum programme is also set to feature presentations by prominent members of the architectural community. The names of the speakers and further programme details will be announced over the coming weeks.

SARP has extensive experience in organising architectural competitions. For years, the association has run the SARP Award of the Year, which recognises outstanding architectural projects across Poland. In the 2026 edition, awards were presented in ten categories, covering everything from residential buildings and cultural venues to interior design, landscape architecture and projects guided by sustainable development principles.

SARP – More Than a Century of Architectural Tradition

The roots of organised professional associations for Polish architects date back to the 19th century. In 1934, an organisation bringing together Poland’s architectural communities was established, and since 1952 it has operated under its current name, the Association of Polish Architects, retaining the acronym SARP. Interestingly, as early as 1911, members of the profession were already working to establish rules governing architectural competitions.

Today, SARP is involved in architectural competitions, promoting high-quality architecture, educational initiatives and debates on the development of the built environment and the architectural profession. The association also works with international partners, with Polish-German cooperation between BDA and SARP providing one example.

More Details to Follow

SARP’s involvement will further broaden the scope of Roof Forum, bringing the relationship between designers and contractors into sharper focus and highlighting the roof not merely as a technical component of a building, but as an integral part of its architecture.

Who will take the stage at Expo Kielce? What form will the competition for architects take, and which topics will feature in the presentations? The first details will be revealed soon, alongside a more extensive feature based on an interview with SARP President Marek Chrobak.
